As the European leader in photo development on internet, in 2005 myPIX.com wanted to install a logistic chain for the management of the different production sites, to group the products from the same order, packaging, and dispatch.
All products ordered in France, England, Ireland, the Netherlands, Germany, Switzerland, Spain, Italy, Belgium, Austria and Sweden are dispatched from the Champlan site.
A close collaboration between Savoye and a-SIS allowed the implementation of a conveying system to group the products from the different production sites in one area.
myPIX.com opted for the Picker_Ultralight 5® in Put to light mode to allocate the products to the different locations. When all the products from the same order are grouped, it is sent to the packing machines via a conveyor system. This process reduces the waiting time for the customer.
For instance, a customer orders 1 customized cup and photo development may be delivered in a short time. myPIX.com is able to prepare the order within 2 days when preparation would take 3 or 4 days in a traditional warehouse. |
